Poetry Reading at the Internationales Literaturfestival Berlin - 12 September, 2015

Luke Fischer will be reading poems (in English and in German translation) on Poetry Night III at the International Literature Festival in Berlin (Internationales Literaturfestival Berlin). Book Launch: The Poet as Phenomenologist: Rilke and the New Poems

On the evening of Thursday 18 June, Luke Fischer's book The Poet as Phenomenologist: Rilke and the New Poems (Bloomsbury, 2015) will be launched by visiting philosopher Professor Eckart Förster at the Goethe-Institut Sydney. A number of poets – Judith Beveridge, Peter Boyle, Jennifer Harrison, and Vivian Smith – will also discuss connections between Rilke's poetry and their own writing. The panel discussion on Rilke (Friday 22 May) at the Sydney Writers' Festival has sold out, but the Poetry and Music Salon on Saturday 23 May from 4.30-6 pm is free. Poets, Robert Adamson, Stephen Edgar and Melinda Smith will read and discuss their work, and violinist Goetz Richter and cellist Minah Choe will perform. I will be moderating the event.
